# Add variables required to show total volume on delivery notes (for the whole delivery)

Hi,

Does anyone know how to add volume to a delivery note?  
Should be simple right but can’t seem to find the section in their coding area?

Any help greatly appreciated!

You can use the following variables, but these are for each product on the document, rather than the entire volume for the order. Does this do what you need?

Hi Matt,

Not really. We don’t wan’t to over-burden a delivery note but the total weight/ total volume is really useful to have for orders for customers and operatives picking them.

I’m pleased to confirm that a new variable has been added that you can now use of `total_product_volume` 🎉

This is now being used in the default “Breww Modern” template. If you have a custom template, you will need to add it yourself.

For reference, the default template had this code:

```auto
{% if (is_invoice and is_export) or is_delivery_note %}
    <div class="notes_and_extra_text">
        <strong>{% trans %}Total product weight:{% endtrans %}</strong> {{ total_product_weight if total_product_weight else _('Unknown') }}.
    </div>
{% endif %}

```

Changed to this code:

```auto
{% if (is_invoice and is_export) or is_delivery_note %}
    <div class="notes_and_extra_text">
        <strong>{% trans %}Total product weight:{% endtrans %}</strong> {{ total_product_weight if total_product_weight else _('Unknown') }}.
        <br><strong>{% trans %}Total product volume:{% endtrans %}</strong> {{ total_product_volume }}.
    </div>
{% endif %}

```
